Why Charles?
Chris, Nathan, Charles and me filming The Suitcase
Before I met Chris Burns, I spent 2 years training with Charles.
When I first rolled with him, I didn't realise he was a top competitor. But damn β he was next level. The crazy thing? He beat me with the most simple jiu-jitsu.
I'm talking simple takedowns. Easy sweeps. Pressure passing. Nothing fancy. But the thing that really stood out was that once he secured a dominant position, he never lost it.
We spent ages training together before he left to go back to training with Roger.

Now I'm so glad we were able to film his entire game and share it with everyone β so they can see that you don't need fancy sh*t to be excellent.
Charles' Accomplishments
At King of The Mats, Charles beat Andre GalvΓ£o β one of the most decorated grapplers of all time β using these exact fundamentals.
