What this is

This is the waitlist for the founding group of Certified Zero Point Academies. Applying is free and commits you to nothing. Here's exactly what happens.

  3. 3If you're a fit, we'll contact you to book a call.
  4. 4On the call we will discuss details of running a Zero Point Academy and you can ask any questions you have.

No payment is taken on this page, and joining the waitlist does not guarantee a place.

This is for you if

  • Jiu-Jitsu Is For Everyone.
  • You run a Jiu-Jitsu academy with 30 or more students.
  • You're a blue belt or above.
  • You believe Jiu-Jitsu has to work in a real fight first, and on the competition mat second.
  • Rickson Gracie's Jiu-Jitsu means something special to you.
  • You're willing to be assessed, and to hold your academy to a standard.

This is not for you if

  • You're building a competition team chasing points and medals.
  • You want a brand to rent and nothing else.
  • You're not prepared to keep learning yourself.

Teaching a smaller group?

If you're under 30 students, you're not ready for a Certified Academy yet. But something is coming for you soon.

What you get

Identity: what you represent

  • Certification under Chris Burns, with authority to grade your students under Zero Point.
  • The Zero Point name on your academy, and a lineage your students can trace.
  • The full Water Stone Way syllabus and instructor manual.
  • A listing in the global Zero Point academy directory.

Business: how you run it

  • A monthly curriculum session, so your coaches teach it right.
  • A monthly business session, so your academy grows and lasts.
  • The Casey Method for class structure and grading schedules.
  • Priority seminars with Chris, and gear at wholesale to sell in your academy.

What we require

Certification is earned. Every Certified Academy owner goes through the same process.

  • Blue belt or above.
  • Careful study of the full Zero Point coursework.
  • Video demonstrations of the first 15 lessons, reviewed with Chris or a Zero Point proctor over Zoom.
  • A final in-person assessment with Chris or a Zero Point proctor.
  • A background check, a working with children check and current CPR.
  • Hosting a Zero Point seminar with Chris twice a year.
